PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Rose Festival Court will transition to a district-based selection process in 2027.
That means instead of fifteen princesses, the court will now have six.
Under the new model, the six participants will represent designated geographic districts rather than individual schools. The foundation will manage the selection process, evaluating applicants based on their leadership, experiences, community involvement and connection to the Rose Festival.
The changes are intended to make the program more accessible, while maintaining its tradition of recognizing young leaders and supporting their personal and educational growth.
The Randall Group is increasing its scholarship commitment from $5,000 to $7,000 per court member.
Applications for the 2027 Rose Festival Court open December 2nd.
